The table range -SABLO- is made of stoneware. The two colors available in the range can be combined beautifully.
In general, stoneware is made from clay, quartz or minerals such as calcite and is defined as a group of ceramic products. Stoneware is used to make plates, platters, cachepots and bowls, shaped at very high temperatures (about 970°C to 1320°C (1778 F to 2408 F)) using casting techniques.
The higher temperatures during the firing process make stoneware more stable than clay and less transparent than porcelain. The colors depend a lot on firing temperature and time, therefore each piece can show individual textures and shades. Since stoneware is not watertight by itself, it is often glazed to achieve this condition. It is stable and durable. This is also the case with our stoneware range which makes it ideal for everyday use.
Nevertheless, it may happen that stoneware objects show a wear of the cutlery. This is not a defect in the product, but a completely natural process, as the glaze was fired at a lower heat than the ceramics underneath. Use and maintenance: SABLO crockery is dishwasher safe and can be used in the microwave.
